In seventeen years of Information Technology experience, Gina has been responsible for software development, infrastructure, analysis, and team management. Gina has worked with Microsoft technologies throughout her career and has always enjoyed solving technology puzzles with the right people and tools for the job.
After many years of .NET software development, she shifted her focus to SQL Server technologies with SSRS and SSIS at CUNA Mutual, then SSAS and the early days of Microsoft Power BI at Trek. In 2014, Gina designed, co-developed and implemented the first data analysis solution for Trek subsidiary BCycle. This marked the first aggregate reporting solution that BCycle was able to provide their operators. She so enjoyed the world of bike share technology that in 2015 she became scrum master and later IT manager for the BCycle software team.
At BCycle, she collaborated with IT and the business to evolve a full software stack – from client to web to payment and RFID hardware – and was instrumental in the launch of BCycle’s mobile app. While she worked to grow the IT team, Business Intelligence was still an important part of her work. Gina developed Power BI reports to provide IoT data diagnostics, system use insights for bike share customers, and resource planning tools to balance multiple software projects.
Gina is passionate about connecting technology professionals to learn and grow together through technology user groups. She has served on the board of MADPASS, SQL Saturday Madison, and is currently a co-organizer of the Madison IoT Meetup. In her free time Gina enjoys riding her horse Lark, exploring parks and attending theater with her husband Kent, and curling up with a good book!
